The Peikko company commissioned MFPA Leipzig GmbH to perform a comprehensive fire testing programme, in order to examine the behaviour of prefabricated prestressed concrete ceilings (hollow prestressed concrete plates) resting on DELTABEAM® composite steel girders. The bearing and load transmission from the ceiling to the girder (indirect bearing) and the impact of the deformation of the girder on the ceiling elements’ bearing capacity regarding shear forces (pliable bearing) were examined to allow for safer and more cost-efficient dimensioning.
