To verify impact resistance of the new glass façade of the Leipzig Gewandhaus as part of its testing activities, MFPA Leipzig GmbH carried out a pendulum impact test according to DIN 18008-4:2013-07 in April 2021.

The goal was to verify protection against a collapse of the glazing, by administering multiple pendulum blows to different parts of the glass façade. In line with the specifications, a pendulum body with the following characteristics was used: Dual tyres with a mass of 50 kg, an internal pressure of 3.5 bar and a deflection height of 90 cm.
