In order to examine the load-bearing capacity of Klingerbrücke in Leipzig, the Supporting Structures and Noise Abatement division of MFPA Leipzig GmbH carried out load testing using the company’s own load testing vehicle (BELFA).
The objective was to review the structure’s reaction to a future additional load from new trams using the bridge under realistic conditions in a set period of time. After the measuring technology had been set up and installed, the tests were carried out in multiple load levels, steps and cases based on the structure’s bending.
